Typhon is the Witch of Pride. She is a petite-looking girl with dark green hair cut in a bob. She has red eyes and wears a headband adorned with blue flowers in her hair. A particularly large blue flower hairpin sits above her left ear. She is also known for having tanned skin and rosy cheeks. Typhon wears a sleeveless dress that reaches almost to her ankles. It is mostly white with blue accents and appears quite sheer below the waist. Typhon is somewhat disarming and projects an air of youthful innocence, though there is a degree of cruelty behind it.
History
Not much is known about Typhon's past. Early in life, she began learning the concept of good and evil from her father, who was an executioner for his job. While still struggling to resolve this moral dilemma, she once broke her father's wine cup. Fearing execution, she confessed her deed to him anyway. He forgave her and accepted her apology, but this led the young and impressionable Typhon to believe that a person's guilt or innocence was decided by the scales of their own heart.
At some point, she adopted the Witch of Pride factor. She then spent the rest of her life asking people if they were sinners and punishing those who were guilty. Later, Typhon would be among the witches killed by Satella the Witch of Envy, however (like most other Witches), Typhon holds no ill will towards Satella herself and understands the separation between Satella and the Witch of Envy. Echidna was said to have absorbed Typhon's soul and that a small part of the Witch of Pride lived alongside Echidna's soul in the Witch of Greed's graveyard .
During the events at the Sanctuary in Arc 4 , Typhon is the second witch Subaru would meet face-to-face with in Echidna's alternate reality realm. She is coaxed out when Subaru continually rebuffed Echidna's offer to have a talk. Subaru and Typhon chatted for a bit for a while (he was potentially disarmed by her innocent looks) before she shook his hand to determine if he was an evil person. She quickly declares that he is not evil, but she also dismembers him and cleanly removes his right arm. As he panics, the witch breaks both of his legs from the knee down before announcing herself as the Witch of Pride. Her work is eventually reversed by Minerva, who punches him back to full health.
Towards the end of these events, as Echidna transplants her soul into Lewes-Meyer 's body, Typhon's soul is still with Echidna. It is then placed (along with the other witches' souls) into a pyroxene crystal. Echidna has shown that she can still summon the souls of the Sin Witches even in her new body (which she calls Omega).
Although he shares etymological and mythological roots, Typhon does not currently appear to share any particular connection with Echidna and instead appears to be named after the celestial body (as are many other members of the cast).
Relationships
Unnamed Father - Typhon's father, whose name has yet to be revealed, is the source of many of young Typhon's notions about good, evil, sin, and punishment. Through the incident with her father's wine cup, she learned to search internally for the scale of good and evil, and she may have acquired her cruelty from being at his side, equating guilt and punishment with execution.
Satella - Satella the Witch of Envy is the one who ultimately kills Typhon, though it should be noted that most Witches of Sin hold no ill will towards Satella herself.
Echidna - Echidna the Witch of Greed acquires Typhon's soul at some point, allowing her to materialize through Echidna's power. Typhon's soul continues to roam the Kingdom of Lugnica in Echidna's new body - Omega.
Subaru Natsuki - Typhoon disarms (figuratively and literally) Subaru upon their first meeting despite her declaring him to be a good person.
SKILLS
Pride Authority - As the Witch of Pride, Typhon is able to command the Pride Authority, though there is little confirmed information about this particular Authority at this time. This is compounded by the fact that the seat of Archbishop of the Pride of Sin is currently vacant.
