Season 1 - Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)
The Kimetsu no Yaiba anime season 1 began airing on April 6, 2019, and concluded with the season finale on September 28, 2019. Season 1 covers the story between chapters 1 to 52 of the Kimetsu no Yaiba manga. None
It was directed by Haruo Sotozaki and produced by Ufotable. Before the airing of season 1, a film titled "Kimetsu no Yaiba: Kyoudai no Kizuna" which included the first five episodes was screened in Japan on March 29, 2019 for two weeks. The film was then later screened in Los Angeles on March 31, 2019 by Aniplex of America. It was then released by Madman Entertainment in Australia on April 2, 2019. Kimetsu no Yaiba season 1 is currently available to stream on Crunchyroll , Hulu , and Funimation .
Episodes
Season 1 of this animated series has 26 episodes in total. Here's a brief summary of each episode of the series.
1. Cruelty
A young boy named Tanjiro Kamado returns home one day to find his family slaughtered. His sister,Nezuko Kamado , survives, but is transformed into a demon. A demon slayer, Giyu Tomioka , arrives and sends Tanjiro to see his master.
2. Coach Sakonji Urokodaki
On the way to Mount Sagiri, Tanjiro and Nezuko encounter the Temple Demon and defeat him. They meet Urokodaki, and he takes Tanjiro away to train him.
3. Sabito and Makomo
Urokodaki accepts Tanjiro as his disciple and trains him for the Demon Slayer Corp's final selection. For his final task, Tanjiro must slice through a rock with his sword.
4. Final selection
Tanjiro must survive for 7 full days on Mount Fujikasane to pass the final selection of the Demon Slayer Corps. During the selection, Tanjiro encounters the Demon of the Hand None
5. My own steel
Tanjiro and four others pass the final selection. They are given uniforms, Kasugai crows, and a piece of ore, and sent home to await their swords.
6. A swordsman accompanying a demon
Tanjiro receives his first mission and arrives in the town where young girls disappear at night. Tanjiro uses his keen sense of smell to catch the Swamp Demons .
7. Muzan Kibutsuji
After defeating the demon, Tanjiro heads to Asakusa for a new mission, but runs into Muzan Kibutsuji living disguised as an ordinary family man.
8. The smell of enchanting blood
Muzan escapes from Tanjiro by transforming a passerby into a demon. Tamayo and Yushiro arrive at the scene and help Tanjiro. Tamayo later explains her situation and Kibutsuji's curse.
9. Temari Demon and Arrow Demon
Susamura and Yahaba appear and attempt to kill Tanjiro. Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Yushiro attempt to fight them together.
10. Together forever
Tamayo joins the battle and defeats Sasamura using his Blood Demon Art. After defeating both demons, the siblings split up and head to their next location.
11. Tsuzumi Mansion
The siblings meet Zenitsu, another demon slayer. They arrive at a mansion where they must find the kidnapped boy.
12. The boar shows its fangs, Zenitsu sleeps
Tanjiro and Inosuke Hashibara fight the demon Tsuzumi. Meanwhile, Zenitsu encounters a demon and loses consciousness, which reveals his true potential.
13. Something more important than life
Tanjiro manages to defeat the demon Tsuzumi and leaves the mansion. He then finds a gravely injured Zenitsu protecting Nezuko's box from Inosuke.
14. The house with the Wisteria family crest
The group of wounded follows the crow Kasugai and arrives at a house bearing the Wisteria family crest. The family living here has cared for the Demon Slayer Corps for generations and is considered a resting place for all Corps members.
15. Mount Natagumo
The group is then sent to Mount Natagumo, where they find a terrified Demon Slayer. The group (except Zenitsu) advances and finds the Demon Slayers captured and controlled by the Spider Demon Mother of a family of spider demons.
16. Letting someone else come first
Tanjiro and Inosuke defeat the Mother Spider Demon, freeing their captured comrades. The Mother Demon warns them that one of the Twelve Demon Moons is on the mountain.
17. You must master only one thing
Zenitsu fights and defeats the spider family's older brother, but is poisoned. To slow the spread of the poison, he focuses on using his breathing technique. Meanwhile, Tanjiro and Inosuke are fighting elsewhere.
18. A bond forged
Two pillars, Giyu Tomioka and Shinobu Kocho arrive at the mountain to help Zenitsu and Inosuke.
19. Hinokami
Tanjiro and Nezuko battle Rui, the true head of the family and a member of the Demon Moons. Tanjiro struggles against Rui's attacks until he remembers his father's Kagura dance and incorporates it into his breathing techniques.
20. Pretend to be a family
Tanjiro fails to defeat Rui, but Giyu arrives just in time. Shinobu also saves another Demon Slayer using her unique poison blade.
21. Against the rules of the Body
Tanjiro and Nezuko flee from Shinobu as she attacks Nezuko. They are soon captured by Kanao Tsuyuri and taken back to the Demon Slayer Corp headquarters for interrogation.
22. Master of the Manor
Tanjiro explains his situation and vows that Nezuko will never harm humans. The Demon Slayer Master appears and approves of the situation, though several Pillars disagree.
23. Meeting with Hashira
Nezuko refuses to attack Sanemi Shinazugawa The Master officially allows Tanjiro to travel with Nezuko again.
24. Rehabilitation training
Tanjiro and Inosuke begin rehabilitation training to rebuild their stamina, and Zenitsu joins them later. Tanjiru continues training, but the others stop coming because they can't beat Kanao.
25. Tsuguko, Kanao Tsuyuri
Tanjiro finally defeats Kanao, forcing Zenitsu and Inosuke to train harder to catch him. The three fully heal their injuries and are ready for their next mission.
26. New mission
A Kasugai crow gives the group their next mission to join Kyojiro Rengoku at the Infinite Train.
