About Satsuki Kiryuin

Satsuki is the student council president of Honnoji Academy. Her status grants her absolute authority over the academy, and she is highly regarded by the residents.

About Satsuki Kiryuin: Background

Satsuki Kiryuin is the firstborn of Ragyo Kiryuin and Soichiro Kiryuin. After Soichiro learns the truth about Ragyo, he decides to secretly teach young Satsuki her mother's story and the secrets of the Life Fibers. However, Soichiro chooses to stay and teach Satsuki because he knows he will be heavily punished for betraying her. He also reveals to Satsuki that Junketsu is her wedding dress and hides with Ryuko Matoi.

Satsuki is a cultured woman and, although she may appear heartless, treats people like animals and justifies ruling the weak and foolish. Regardless of how she treats people, she is very charismatic and talented in her ability to lead others. And although she may appear heartless, she shows signs of empathy and is not above swallowing her pride. She is very focused and determined and willing to sacrifice herself to ensure that victory is hers.

Despite her first impression, she is a caring character. In particular, she cares for the Council of Four and protects them. When Satsuki was young, she always drank Mitsuzo Soroi's tea to protect her feelings, showing that she is not necessarily heartless. It is also shown that she loved her father and sister so much that she attacked her mother, who got rid of her. Satsuki's hatred of her mother and much of her motivation stems from this.

About Satsuki Kiryuin: Abilities

Initially, Satsuki used the Kamui Junketsu. This allowed her to bend the Bloodthirsty Uniform to her will. She was also able to quickly obtain the Life Fiber Override. With the Kamui Junketsu at her side, she gained extreme power and was able to cause a deflection with a flick of her wrist. She was also able to alter the Kamui's form to aid her in combat. However, a vital weakness of this Junketsu was that she was unable to overcome its resistance to Life Fibers and thus could not truly synchronize with her Junketsu. As a result, when she used her Junketsu, she became exhausted.

One of Satsuki's strengths is her great physical ability and intelligence. Even without her Junketsu, Satsuki displays near-superhuman levels of physical strength, speed, endurance, and reflexes. She is known to be the strongest fighter in the Academy and defeated Ira Gamagori despite her colossal size. She is also knowledgeable but tends to use her intelligence to manipulate others for her own gain. This is especially evident when she influences numerous people to bring down her mother.

Other important characters in Kill la Kill

Satsuki had a difficult upbringing, resulting in a seemingly heartless personality. She notably has a strong relationship with Ryuko Matoi and Ragyo Kiryuin.

Ryuko Matoi

Ryuko Matoi and Satsuki begin to become rivals. This is due to Ryuko suspecting Satsuki of having something to do with her father's death. However, Satsuki seems to show that she has no intention of hurting Ryuko, as when she is broken and defeated, she covers her with a blanket and leaves a piece of Senketsu with her. She seems to view Ryuko as someone useful. When it is revealed that the two are related, it causes a drastic change in their relationship.

Ragyo Kiryuin

Ragyo Kiryuin is Satsuki's mother and has a significant influence on her life. However, Ragyo sees her simply as the heir to Covers and is determined to destroy Earth. However, Satsuki is aware of her mother's choices and has secretly plotted to betray and stop her. She expresses her disappointment in Satsuki because she cannot fuse with Junketsu and unleash her full power.
