Synopsis

The goddess Athena is protected by an army of warriors known as Saints, who are themselves protected by battle armor called Cloths, which represent their guardian constellations. Sho is a Santia, one of Athena's personal servants, and finds herself defending the goddess and her sanctuary against the incursion of Eris, the goddess of discord.

Background

Saint Seiya: Saintia Sho is adapted from the manga by Chimaki Kuori and is a direct sequel to the original Saint Seiya series created by Masami Kurumada. The anime adaptation was announced in December 2016, and the first season premiered on Amazon Prime Video in Japan on December 10, 2018. The anime will be streamed internationally via Crunchyroll. Voice actresses Aina Suzuki, MAO, Inori Minase, and Megumi Nakajima perform the series' opening theme song, "The Beautiful Brave," while Aina Suzuki and MAO perform the ending theme song, "Hohoemi no Resonance."

Equuleus Sho (Voice of: Aina Suzuki)

Equuleus Sho is a member of Athena's personal guard. She is good at sports and hates losing. Sho also trains hard at her father's karate dojo.

Equuleus Kyoko (Voiced by: MAO)

Kyoko Equuleus is Sho's older sister. She became a Saintia to rebel against her own destiny.

Saori Kido (Voice of: Inori Minase)

Saori Kido inherited the leadership of the Graude Foundation from her grandfather and is also the current incarnation of the goddess Athena. While struggling with an internal conflict between her two identities, Saori presides over the Galactic War.

Dolphin Mii (Voice of: Megumi Nakajima)

Dolphin Mii is a childhood friend of Saori and is now her personal secretary.

Milo Scorpion (Voice of: Toshihiko Seki)

Milo Scorpio is one of the 12 Gold Saints. He met young Sho and Kyoko five years ago.

Leo Aiolia (Voice of: Hideyuki Tanaka)

One of the 12 Gold Saints, Leo Aiolia is always quick to detect Eris's movements.

Pavo Mayura (Voice of: Rina Sato)

Covered entirely in bandages, Pavo Mayura, the Silver Saint, is one of the strongest members of the Sanctuary and Sho's mentor. She has used a wheelchair for 13 years after being injured during the uprising at the Sanctuary of Athena.

Unicorn Yato (Voice of: Hideo Ishikawa)

Yato, the holy bronze unicorn, is fiercely loyal to Saori.

Ruine Atë (Voice of: Rika Tachibana)

Ruin Atë is the leader of the Dryads and a supporter of Eris.

Malice Emoni (Voice of: Marika Kouno)

Malice Emoni is a Dryad who took the form of a cherubic maiden but has a wicked tongue. She always carries a teddy bear named Mick with her.

Toki (Voice of: Shunsuke Takeuchi)

Toki is one of the orphans sent by the Graude Foundation as a candidate to become a Saint.

Light (Voiced by: Ayaka Ohashi)

Lumi is Sho's best friend at school.

Sho's Father (Voiced by: Yasuhiro Mamiya)

Sho and Kyoko's father. He may seem strict, but he is a kind father and loves his daughters very much.

Mirai (Voiced by: Aki Kanada)

Mirai is a disciple of Mayura. He is direct and energetic and takes care of Sho during his training.

Cinato (Voiced by: Akeno Watanabe)

Cinato is one of Mayura's disciples, calm and collected. She also takes care of Sho while she trains.

Tatsumi (Voice of: Hisao Egawa)

Tatsumi is Saori's butler and has been part of the family since the time of her grandfather, Mitsumasa Kido.
