PinocchioP (Vocaloid producer)
PinocchioP (ピノキオピー) is a music producer, illustrator, and character designer. He works for P._nc (pronounced pink) and is signed to the U/M/A/A (pronounced yuma) label. His producer name comes from his debut song "Hanauta," which means "humming" but can be literally translated as "nose song." The thumbnail for "Hanauta" is an image of Hatsune Miku with an extremely long nose, which earned him the name PinocchioP, thus earning his producer name.
About the artist
He produces songs using Hatsune Miku, Kagamine-Rin , MAYU, and GUMI, drawing his own illustrations, and writing his own lyrics. His songs tend to be fast-paced and catchy, and often feature thought-provoking lyrics that address social issues.
From 2012 to 2015,PinocchioP released six highly successful independent albums and held his first live concert to a sold-out audience. He also contributed songs to Konami's music game "SOUND VOLTEX BOOTH" and had songs featured in various commercials.
Since 2016, PinocchioP has provided music for The Secret of Mana 2, None, Caligula Overdose , and the action-puzzle game Crash Fever . He released his 3rd major album, HUMAN , and also his 7th independent album , Imamura Proliferation (増殖する今村, Zoushoku suru Imamura). His music has also been used as the promotional theme song for a convenience store chain, New Days , and the light novel Breaking Up with My Little Sister (妹、分裂する, Imouto, Bunretsu suru).
PinocchioP started DJing professionally and traveled to Indonesia Comic-Con 2017 to play a heavily Vocaloid-centric set in front of hundreds of people, he toured across Japan with fellow Vocaloid producer Sasakure.UK., and in 2018, he performed at the Star of Asia concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
During his live performances, he will have a typical rock band lineup, but he often includes a DJ booth and DJ equipment that allows for instant sampling at the touch of a button. His performances are very energetic, and he can often be seen dancing vigorously on stage.
He created two original characters , Aimaina-chan (アイマイナちゃん) and Doushite-chan (どうしてちゃん). "Aimai" means "ambiguous," while "Doushite" means "why" in English. These two characters frequently appear in PinocchioP's music videos and symbolize the ambiguity and doubts people have regarding the particular issue that is the theme of that song. He enjoys and is influenced by Japanese bands such as Spitz and Magokoro Brothers, and particularly admires the works of Denki Groove.
Pinocchio and Hatsune Miku
PinocchioP began sharing Vocaloid music online in 2009 and made his major debut in 2012 with his debut album "Obscure Questions." Having always been interested in electronic sounds and music about human nature, he was initially shocked when he heard Agoaniki's song "Double Lariat," whose Vocaloid vocals contrasted with a group sound and very human-like lyrics. PinocchioP makes Vocaloid music in a wide variety of styles, ranging from dance music and Shibuya-kei to rock.
PinocchioP has regularly released new Vocaloid songs throughout his musical career and has participated in numerous collaborations and live events, including events where he sings his own songs alongside Hatsune Miku. In 2016, he also designed a character for the Toyota Prius anthropomorphization campaign, PRIUS! IMPOSSIBLE GIRLS.
One of his greatest accomplishments was producing the music for THE END , an opera with Hatsune Miku as the main character and no humans or orchestra. The music used in the opera was darker and suited the central idea that Hatsune Miku, an android, wanted to know if she could really die.
In addition, his limited edition SONY h.ear on (MDR-100A) Hatsune Miku Model PRODUCER MODEL (PinocchioP) The headphones he illustrated went on sale in 2016 and sold out within a week.
