One Piece: Who Is Saint Charlos? Meet One of the Most Hated One Piece Characters!

The World Nobles, also known as the Celestial Dragons, are the descendants of 19 of the 20 founding kings of the organization known as the World Government in Eiichiro Oda's One Piece manga. They are vile snobs who use their political influence to hide their weaknesses, which is why practically everyone despises them. Among them, one of the most hated is undoubtedly Saint Charlos, who will be the subject of our analysis here. In this article, we will talk about Saint Charlos and tell you who his character is, what his role is in the stories, and why everyone hates him so passionately.

Saint Charles is a World Noble. He is the son of Saint Rosward and the older brother of Saint Shalria. He is widely hated and is known as one of the most despised One Piece characters in the franchise's history due to his vile personality. Luffy beat him up in the slave auction house in Sabaody Archipelago for shooting Hatchan solely because he was a fishman, which infuriated Luffy.

The rest of this article will focus on Saint Charlos, his history, and his role in the world of Oda's One Piece series. We'll introduce you to his story and tell you what exactly happened to him, how he developed as a character, and where Saint Charlos is currently and what he's doing in the manga's current narrative. This article will contain some spoilers, so if you're not fully up to date, you've been warned.

Saint Charlos is hated by everyone except (perhaps!) his own parents.

Saint Charlos is one of the World Nobles and a very snobbish and mean character who takes his "role" as a World Noble very seriously, mistreating and belittling anyone he considers beneath him (and this represents a very large portion of the characters in Oda's One Piece, especially if they are not human). He has a very high opinion of himself. He uses his influence and political powers to hide a clear lack of powers or skills that would make him worthy of playing a role in normal society.

In a fight, he would be even worse than useless, and while he carries a golden pistol with him almost always, it is unknown how effective he is with it, and from what we know of him in general, the pistol could easily be nothing more than a useless accessory in his hands. It played a somewhat important role in the Sabaody Archipelago and Levely Arcs.

Saint Charlos comes to the Sabaody Archipelago with his father, Saint Rosward, and his sister, Saint Shalria, but travels the archipelago alone, riding his slave and guarded by his bodyguard. When he sees an ambulance trying to take a seriously injured man to the hospital on a stretcher instead of kneeling as the World Nobles require, Charlos shows no mercy and overturns the stretcher. He finally notices Nurse Marie, whom he decides to make his wife. Charlos shoots his approaching fiancé in the stomach, "convincing" her to come with him.

Luffy Punches Charlos

Shortly after, Zoro arrives on the scene and runs straight towards the World Noble. He shows no respect when he directly addresses Saint Charlos. Saint Charlos doesn't want to splash and shoots at Zoro without hesitation, but Zoro dodges and is about to draw his Sandai Kitetsu when the young girl Bonney pulls him aside and claims that Charlos killed her "big brother." The World Noble is a little surprised as he thinks he saw that Zoro dodged his attack but is no longer worried as the opponent is apparently dead and continues riding his slave.

Saint Charlos arrives late to the human auction, just in time for the auction of the mermaid Camie, for which he immediately offers 500 million berries, much to the dismay of his friends in the Straw Hat Pirates, who wanted to free her with their own bid. Charlos wins the auction when, shortly after, Luffy and Zoro burst into the auction.

As Luffy rushes to the scene to free Camie, Hatchan tries to restrain him using all his arms, revealing that he is a Fishman. Charlos does not hesitate and shoots Hatchan, angering Luffy. Hatchan's request not to react to the shot also goes unheeded when Charlos fires a second time: Charlos is struck by Luffy with a punch.

When the world nobles come to Mary Geoise to attend the Levely, Saint Charlos observes them through binoculars and immediately notices the gigantic mermaid princess Shirahoshi, attracting his father's attention. Saint Charlos then goes to the social square and orders one of his slaves to capture Shirahoshi; the sovereigns present do not want to get involved so as not to cause diplomatic incidents. Leo and Sai do not hold back and launch the attack but are stopped by Lucci, who arrives with other CP0 agents, trying to convince them that the world nobles are superior to true commoners.

Aware that he is foregoing Otohime's will to resurface the Dragon Palace Kingdom, Neptune prepares to attack Saint Charlos, who orders Lucci to kill the Merfolk. However, the World Noble is struck with a spiked mace by one of his peers, the same one who, ten years earlier, had been saved by Queen Otohime: Don Quixote Mjosgard. Saint Charlos is taken away for treatment; while he claims to make Mjosgard pay, his father joins him on Bartholomew Kuma.

On the fourth day of the Levely, he recovers and plans to capture Shirahoshi. He is then at risk of being assassinated, and Mjosgard is accused of letting the attacker escape. And this is the known story of Charlos. He will likely be introduced later, as the World Nobles play an even larger role in the final saga, so we will update this article with new information as it becomes available.

Charlos Beaten Up Second Time

Before concluding, we would like to tell you a little about his powers and abilities. As a member of the World Nobles, he can do whatever he wants and can summon an admiral, if necessary, at any time as he has almost unlimited political power, just like the other World Nobles. He appears to have good eyesight as he could see Zoro moving at a rapid speed but was knocked out with a single punch by Luffy, showing that he is physically weak and useless. Charlos has a golden pistol. His abilities and accuracy are limited, however: he shot Luffy and Zoro several times but failed to hit his target.

On the other hand, he was able to kill civilians. His ability to handle a pistol remains unclear, but he seems to wield it better than any civilian. He can get away with anything, he buys slaves and mistreats them, and when he travels to the Sabaody Archipelago, he does so on human backs. Just recall how he, passing by a stretcher carrying a wounded man, does not hesitate to knock it over, then orders the nurse to become his thirteenth wife, shooting her fiancé in the process.
