Matoi – Nidy 2D version – PSO2 – Kotobukiya
Today I will show you the following figure: Matoi – Nidy 2D version based on Phantasy Star Online 2 None

It was manufactured by Kotobukiya and released in August 2020, the figure is 1/7 scale and measures 26 cm.

A few months ago, I started watching an anime called Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode Oracle . Where 3 episodes of the Phantasy Star Online 2 game were adapted into a longer anime. It's one of those 25-episode series, which are always fun to watch as the story unfolds, it's nothing mind-blowing but a great way to waste some time with an entertaining sci-fi fairy tale.

Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode Oracle featured a character named Matoi, a really pretty and friendly girl whose story is slowly revealed, she first starts out as a cute sidekick to the main character Ash.

Before watching the anime, I saw this figure for pre-order, I liked it, but I made one condition. If I would like the character from the anime, I would pre-order it. Unfortunately, Matoi had the voice of an angel ( Satou, Satomi ) and I had to order this figure. The figure is not a 100% adaptation of the game design, Kotobukiya did a collaboration with illustrator Nidy, who gave Matoi a slightly different look and appearance.

Matoi has an adorable face with a cute and friendly expression. There are detailed eye stickers and strong blush marks. Her hairstyle emphasizes the character's cuteness; her hair is beautifully colored, light purple with a light blue color at the tips.
What made Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode Oracle stand out in my opinion were the female characters' legs with their realistic proportions and length like the Japanese girl next door. The legs in this anime are so cute and attractive. Also, everyone has pointy ears, which is a big bonus, elves with beautiful legs Oh my God ♡^▽^♡.

Her outfit is inspired by science fiction and elements of traditional Japanese religious dress, and of course, it's meant to look sexy. When you watched the first episodes of the anime, you wouldn't have expected it, but Matoi looks really hot in her battle armor, even though the anime outfit shows much less cleavage. I really like the colors used; the combination of bright red, white, and light blue is really cool.

The Nidy version really shows off the illustrators' style, Matoi has a great body with a slim waist and wide hips, she also has gorgeous legs and a nice figure line in general. Sculptor Sakaki Kaoru did a very good job adapting the style of PSO 2 and Nidy together, transforming her into this attractive figure.

From the back, the figure also looks very good, firstly because of all the details of her outfit and secondly because of the beautiful body line of the figure based on the PSO 2 character design embellished by Nidy, the thighs are so good.

Matoi strikes a seductive pose, her torso leaning slightly forward, revealing a lovely arched back. She's placed her raised left index fingers in front of her mouth, which perhaps means we shouldn't ask her about what she's hiding in her right hand behind her back. It's a pretty white lily, though...

The figure features very clean paintwork, the small and delicate marks are applied with a crisp and clean screen printing technique. In addition, the Matoi figure has good shading.
The overall quality is very good, Kotobukiya is a company I've had some very good and not so good figures from in the past. Matoi looks very good, the character sculpt and outfit are very well done.

Final Words – Kotobukiya’s 2D version of Matoi – Nidy turned out very well, the sci-fi outfit is quite stunning, the white of the spaceship combined with the bright red is really eye-catching. The figure depicts Matoi as a sweet girl and also, without a doubt, very attractive, the sculptor did a great job in making everything beautiful and attractive, the figure shows the aesthetics of both Phantasy Star Online 2 origins and the work of illustrator Nidy. Did I mention that she already has great thighs hahaha?

What I really like is that the figure still carries Matoi's sweet personality, while dressed in her battle armor.

Of the very few figurines I received in 2020, this is one of the prettiest, so it was a good decision to order it.
