Lady Gaga and Hatsune Miku

In April 2014, Lady Gaga announced on Twitter that Hatsune Miku would be the opening act for her concert. Reactions from Lady Gaga's fans were mixed, with the majority condemning the collaboration, while the majority of Miku's fans were delighted that one of the most famous American pop artists of recent times had invited Miku to her concert. This part of the concert was held in cooperation with Crypton Future Media, which provided the technology, and Sega, which provided the modeling and design.
Lady Gaga has openly admitted to being a Hatsune Miku fan and regularly posts photos of herself with her Miku figurines or other merchandise on her social media accounts. The responses to her posts are mostly overwhelmingly positive. This collaboration was also made to help bring the two pop music fans closer together and encourage friendly interaction between them.

Reactions after the tour

Many fans who expressed disapproval at the announcement ended up thoroughly enjoying the concert, noting that while Hatsune Miku was a strange concept to them, it still made for a fun night. Clips of the event were uploaded to social media and YouTube, leading to a surge in searches for "Hatsune Miku" in America. The collaboration spawned a series of memes featuring illustrations of Gaga and Miku alongside humorous dialogue.
Articles immediately emerged, many praising the visuals Miku brought to the tour. Some critics noted that it was difficult to fully appreciate the opening act as Miku sang primarily in her native Japanese, which detracted from the experience as they did not understand the lyrics but felt her dancing and the music itself were appropriate for an opening act for Lady Gaga.
