Kyojuro Rengoku: Flame Pillar - Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)

Kyojuro Rengoku (煉獄杏寿郎 Rengoku Kyojuro) is a member of the Demon Slayer Corps and is the Flame Pillar in the Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) series. He is also the first Pillar to die, being killed by Upper Moon Three, Akaza. He uses the Flame Breathing (炎の呼吸 Hono no Kokyu) in the same manner as his father, Shinjuro Rengoku, who was the former Flame Pillar . Kyojuro has messy yellow hair with red tips that reaches just below his shoulders. His eyes are also a similar color: they are yellow with red irises. He wears the standard black Demon Slayer uniform as well as a white haori with yellow and red flame patterns along the bottom. He is always seen wearing a serious or excited expression. Kyojurou takes responsibility for his duties and does not seem to be a character who dwells on negative feelings.

History

Kyojuro is the eldest son in a family of four: his father, his mother Ruka Rengoku, and his younger brother Senjuro Rengoku. His family has been part of the Demon Slayer Corps for a long time, always producing Flame Pillars . His father was the former Flame Pillar , but he realized that nothing could beat the Sun Breath, the first and most original breath, and despaired of retiring from his duties. While his father struggled with his incompetence, his mother died of illness. This pushed his father deeper into depression, causing him to drown his sorrows in alcohol. Kyojuro did not fall into despair, but read the Flame Breathing instruction manual and trained to become a Flame Breathing Pillar. He took it upon himself to raise and help his younger brother. He cares greatly for his younger brother and does not hesitate to tell him the harsh reality. When their father told him "it doesn't matter" when he reported that he had become a Pillar, Kyojuro didn't become negative. Even though the truth was the opposite of what they wanted to hear, Kyojuro remained positive and continues to encourage Senjuro to become stronger and more passionate.

Personality

Kyojuro is very enthusiastic about his duties as a Demon Slayer and takes his responsibilities as a Pillar very seriously. During the fight on the train against Lower Moon One, Enmu, he was very disappointed in himself for not having awakened Tanjiro Kamado sooner, who was not a Pillar. He has a strong sense of justice and a strict sense of right and wrong, believing that Tanjiro was wrong to protect a Demon, regardless of the fact that Nezuko was his younger sister.
Kyojuro always tries to stay positive and did not get discouraged and remained cheerful even when his father belittled him by stating that it was useless when he became a Pillar . Kyojuro believes that the strong have a duty to protect the weak and uses his strength and knowledge to protect and nurture the defenseless and his fellow demon slayers. His mother taught Kyojuro the importance of life and instilled strong values and moral principles in him.

Master Swordsman: Kyojuro is the Flame Pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps and is one of the most skilled swordsmen in the entire Corps.
