Homer Simpson The Simpsons - BE@RBRICK

The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening that took the world by storm in the early 1990s for its satirical take on the average American family. The series would go on to become an international hit, eventually leading to numerous merchandise collaborations. One such collaboration was with Medicom Toy, resulting in the production of BE@BRICK figures like the "BE@RBRICK The Simpsons Homer Simpson 100%" and the corresponding 400% figure.

The Simpsons Background to the BE@RBRICK collaboration

The Simpsons and BE@RBRICK collaboration began in 2014 with the release of the original BE@RBRICK figures of Homer and Bart Simpson. In early 2021, four unique figure designs were released, with a fifth expected to be released in June 2021. Most of the figures created as part of this collaboration have also been made in several different sizes, such as the 100%, 400%, and 1000% BE@RBRICK figures.

Planning and launching the collaboration

Following the release of the original Homer and Bart figures in 2014, other popular characters from the series also received BE@RBRICK figures. In December 2016, a Krusty the Clown BE@RBRICK figure was released in all three standard BE@RBRICK sizes, followed by a Bartman figure nearly a year later. In March 2018, however, Homer received a second figure with an updated design. The most recently announced figure recreates the Cyclops character from "Treehouse of Horror XXIV."

BE@RBRICK The Simpsons Homer Simpson 100%

This figure recreates the goofy father of the Simpson family, Homer Simpson. Although the first Homer figure was released in 2014, this figure features a new, updated design of the character. That said, Homer still wears the same classic outfit he always wears: a white collared shirt, blue pants, and a pair of dark gray shoes. This figure also has all the classic features of a BE@RBRICK figure, including a pair of rounded ears, poseable limbs, and a large, round belly. The latter suits Homer especially well, as it perfectly matches his round character design.

BE@RBRICK The Simpsons Homer Simpson 400%

This figure looks a lot like the previous one, but it's much larger. While the 100% figure stands just under three inches tall, this 400% figure stands eleven inches tall. However, aside from the size difference, they are nearly identical in design.

About The Simpsons

The Simpsons is an animated sitcom created by Matt Groening that first aired as a series of short films in 1987 before receiving its own television series in 1989. The idea for The Simpsons Movie was born from a satirical and exaggerated depiction of the average American family. At the time, many sitcoms centered on perfect, happy families with few legitimate worries. Groening decided to turn this idea of the "perfect" American family on its head, resulting in the comically dysfunctional Simpson family.

About Homer Simpson

Homer Simpson is the father of the Simpson family and is known for his lazy personality, his love of beer and food, and his short temper. He works at the local nuclear power plant, where he acts as a safety inspector, despite being incredibly underqualified for such a position. Although quick to anger and often resorting to violence, especially when it comes to his son, Bart, Homer genuinely loves his family and is not afraid to make sacrifices for them.

Another notable aspect of The Simpsons is its incredible cast of characters. That said, the Simpson family members are by far the most memorable recurring characters.

Bart Simpson

Bart is the eldest child of the Simpson family and is known for his rebellious and mischievous personality. Although the other members of the Simpson family are named after Groening's relatives, Bart was supposed to be named after Groening himself, but chose to call him "Bart"—an anagram of the word "brat." His attitude often gets him into trouble at school and with his father.

Lisa Simpson

Lisa, compared to her older brother Bart, is much more empathetic, caring, and intelligent. At times, her intelligence can seem more of a curse than a blessing, as her intelligence often alienates her from other members of her family, especially Bart and Homer. Additionally, despite her high intelligence, Lisa still struggles with common, mundane problems that all children encounter.

Marge Simpson

Marge is Homer's wife and the mother of Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. Despite her unusual hairstyle, Marge is a very loving mother to her children and husband. Most of the time, she takes many of the issues surrounding her problematic family lightly, choosing to accept their flaws rather than reject them. That said, Marge has her limits, especially with Homer.

Maggie Simpson

Maggie is the youngest member of the Simpson family, and since the characters don't age in The Simpsons , she has remained stuck in her baby state for many decades. Although she is incredibly young and largely unable to speak, it is often suggested that she is incredibly intelligent, much like her sister Lisa.
