Summary

High school student Junichi Hashiba Junichi isn't exactly enjoying his youth. Not only is he considered a loser, but he's also a virgin—the horror! The few (loser) friends he has are tired of Junichi failing at life, so they come up with a foolproof plan and trick him into confessing his feelings to Yukane Yame , who happens to be one of the most fashionable girls in school... and Junichi discovers that peer pressure might not be so bad after all. Yukane agrees to go out with him! His life is about to get a lot more exciting and confusing because Junichi isn't quite prepared for all the surprises and adventures that await him!

Background

This romantic comedy was created by Meguru Ueno and began serialization in Kadokawa's Monthly Shounen Ace magazine in 2015. The manga's third volume was released in March 2017.

Broadcast Information

The series will begin airing in July 2017, but broadcast dates and channels are not yet known. It has also been revealed that "Hajimete no Gal" will consist of 10 anime episodes, plus an OVA.

Characters

Junichi Hashiba

Junichi is a lonely loser who hates the fact that he's still a virgin now that he's in high school. He tends to give up on his desires far too easily, and he has a penchant for daydreaming a little too often. Unfortunately, he's also very gullible and seems to believe just about anything he's told.

Yukana Yame

Yukana is a trendy, gorgeous, well-endowed "gyaru" with a good number of friends. She can come across as cold or ruthless to those who don't know her well enough. She loves to tease and confuse others on purpose and constantly enjoys catching others in awkward situations. Quite an unpredictable girl!

Ranko Honjou

Ranko is a trendy, tanned "gyaru" who is friends with Yukana! She finds immense satisfaction in using her voluptuous curves and feminine charm to make Junichi as uncomfortable as possible! She is considered dangerous and is rather touchy.

Yui Kashii

Yui, who is in Junichi's class, is very popular among the students in his class. She is attractive, thoughtful, and gets very good grades. She appears to be the ideal girlfriend.

Shizune Fujinoki

Shizune is Junichi's childhood friend. Despite her small stature, she has quite a perky chest. Although Junichi doesn't remember it, Shizune claims that they promised to marry each other when they were children.

Events

A stage event for the upcoming series took place at AnimeJapan 2017 on March 25. It featured voice actresses Yuki Nagaki (Yukana Yame) and Eri Kitamura (Ranko), where they spoke openly about their feelings about "Hajimete no Gal."
