Frederica is a bestial human woman serving Roswaal L. Mathers as a maid. She has long, pale blonde hair and green eyes. She is tall with a muscular build and is usually dressed in the standard Mathers Manor maid uniform with a maid headband. While she mostly resembles an average maid ( Subaru , perhaps even a beautiful woman), her teeth consist of a set of sharp fangs that are clearly visible when she smiles. Others have noted that she resembles a carnivorous hunter eyeing its prey when she squints. She is generally kind, though she is known to be firm and strict when it comes to training others in chores.
History
While Frederica's mother, Raela Thompson, is fully human, her missing father was half-beast, making her a quarter-beast-human. Raela, Frederica, and Garfield (her brother) were wandering vagrants for part of the children's lives before being taken in by Roswaal and placed in a home at Sanctuary. Raela left her two children there to search for and return her missing husband. Frederica lived at Sanctuary until the age of 12, when she entered the service of the Mathers and Miload family as a servant.
During her early years at the mansion, she was the one who taught both Aries and Rem their skills as maids. After almost a decade of service, she left her job, but was later invited back after Rem's disappearance and Ram was unable to keep up with the mansion's maintenance tasks on her own. She also eventually took Petra under her wing as a young girl being trained to be a maid in the mansion.
During the events of Arc 4 , Frederica dutifully served at the mansion while Subaru, Emilia, and the team were busy with the events at Sanctuary. Over the course of several timelines, Subaru spoke with Frederica and learned a great deal about Garfiel and also a bit more about the demi-humans of that world. She fought valiantly against Elsa (in several timelines) but tended to end up dead when attempting a head-on confrontation. However, in the timeline where Subaru survives, Frederica is able to help evacuate the mansion to Sanctuary. After these events, Frederica continues to stay at the mansion and train Petra.
The author said that Frederica should be introduced in arc 7 and will have a main arc in arc 11.
Relationships
Raela Thompson - Raela is Frederica's fully human mother who cared for her until the family was invited by Roswaal into Sanctuary. She eventually left in search of her missing husband, but never returned.
Garfield's Garland - Garfield is Frederica's bestial human brother, for whom she cares deeply. She has maintained communication with him via letters from time to time. When they were children, while training, she would often send him flying, unaware of the seven-year age difference between them.
Roswaal L. Mathers - Roswaal is Frederica's employer for most of her working life as a housekeeper.
Ram, Rem, and Petra - Frederica trained Ram, Rem, and Petra in their duties as maids, serving as a mentor to them while tackling their various responsibilities around the manor.
Natsuki Subaru - Natsuki Subaru first arrived at the Mathers mansion after Frederica had already left, but met him when she was called back to help Ram take over as his sister was out of commission. Despite her contract with Roswaal limiting the amount of information she could impart, she was an invaluable source of information on Garfiel, her brother who was the antagonist at the time, as well as the plight of the demi-humans.
SKILLS
Housekeeper - Frederica is an expert maid and has trained several different maids to serve the Mathers manor. She has been tasked with running the manor even in her master's absence.
Bestification - Frederica's lineage on her father's side allows her to transform fully or partially into a large, leaping beast, though it seems her brother Garfiel is a more skilled fighter than her.
Rare Blood - Clind noticed that Frederica has a rare blood type and that there may be dangers associated with it.
