Synopsis

After a mysterious series of disappearances on a seemingly infinitely long train, Tanjiro Kamado, his sister Nezuko, and his friends from the Demon Slayer Corps accompany Kyojuro Rengoku to investigate the train. However, a powerful demon and the last of the Lower Moons named Enmu have prepared a trap and are waiting for them.

Background

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba began as a manga series written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotoge that was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from February 2016 to May 2020. It has had several spin-offs to date, including Kimetsu no Yaiba: Tomioka Giyu Gaiden None Kimetsu no Aima!, and Kimetsu no Yaiba: Rengoku Gaiden None

Three light novels have also been released: Demon Slayer: The Flower of Happiness by Gotoge and Aya Yajima released in February 2019, Demon Slayer: One-Winged Butterfly released in October 2019, and Demon Slayer: Telltale Signs of the Wind which was released in July 2020.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Infinity Train is the first animated film in the series to be released theatrically following the popular television anime adaptation, which aired from April to September 2019. The film was announced in September 2019 after the broadcast of episode 26 of the anime. Members of the television anime team returned for the film, including Haruo Sotozaki as director, Akira Matsushima as character designer and chief animation director, and Go Shiina and Yuki Kajiura as music composers. The film premiered in Japan on October 16, 2020, and became the fastest Japanese film to gross 10 billion yen at the box office. Funimation and Aniplex USA will release the film in U.S. theaters in 2021.

Tanjiro Kamado (Voice of: Natsuki Hanae)
Tanjiro is a member of the Demon Slayer Corps who has mastered water breathing and the Hinokami Kagura, which he learned from his father. He is kind and cares deeply for his sister, Nazuko. He sets out on a journey to avenge his family's death at the hands of demons and save his sister, who has been transformed into a demon.

Nezuko Kamado (Voice of: Akari Kito)
Nezuko is Tanjiro's sister, who has been transformed into a demon, though she retains some of her humanity and does not attack people. She is carried in a wooden box by Tanjiro during the day to avoid the sun and regain her strength.

Zenitsu Agatsuma (Voice of: Hiro Shimono)
Zenitsu is a member of the Demon Slayer Corps who is adept at Thunder Breathing. He is a bit of a coward and faints when overcome by fear. He also likes girls and aspires to be a playboy.

Inosuke Hashibira (Voiced by: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka)
Inosuke is a member of the Demon Slayer Corps who possesses beast breath and wears a boar mask. He was raised in the wild and fights with two serrated swords.

Kyojuro Rengoku (Voice of: Satoshi Hino)
Kyojuro is the Flame Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps who masters the flame breath. He is a powerful swordsman with a friendly personality. He sets out to investigate the Mugen Train after 40 people go missing.

Kyojuro's father.

Kyojuro's mother.

Enmu (Voice of: Daisuke Hirakawa)
Enmu is a sadistic demon who enjoys seeing the misery and suffering of others. He occupies the Lower Moon 1 position but is as strong as the Upper Moons. His Blood Demon Art allows him to enter and manipulate a person's dream in order to kill them.

Akaza (Voice of: Akira Ishida)
Akaza is a demon with the Upper Moon Three position who has enormous power.
