Attack on Titan Anime Season 2 Summary
This season revealed a lot of relevant information about the plot and characters of Attack on Titan. The series begins with the 104th Training Division discovering that there are Titans within the walls, and that it is their skin that helps protect humanity. Everyone came to this conclusion when Armin realized that the Titans only attack certain parts of the walls.
On the other hand, the Beast Titan appears for the first time and proves to be extremely intelligent, being able to communicate with both Titans and humans. At this point, the Beast Titan's true intentions remain a mystery.
Later in the story, the characters begin to suspect that Wall Rose has ceased to be an effective means of stopping the Titans because the enemy never broke this element but only started to appear. It is also revealed that humans are becoming what they hate and this leads to very negative consequences, such as malformations in the Titans. However, these Titans are more intelligent and can walk at night. This was discovered when Connie 's mother became one of them.
Further discoveries were made during the siege of Utgard Castle. This time, Ymir confesses that she is also a Titan and defends Reiner and Bertholdt, who also speak of being the Colossal and Armored Titan respectively. Ymir decides to protect them and Krista with her life. Shortly after, Krista reveals that her true identity is Historia Reiss, a descendant of an aristocratic family.
Along with the revelation of all these secrets, his enemies - formerly allies - kidnap Eren Jaeger . From that moment on, all the characters begin to doubt the legitimacy of their actions. Reiner and the others begin to wonder why they are fighting.
In the midst of all this conflict, Eren, Mikasa , and the others find themselves trapped around the Titans. To save Eren, Hannes sacrifices himself, and the Smiling Titan eats him again before Eren's eyes. In this moment of shock, Mikasa thanks him for helping her and teaching her how to live. However, when it seems Mikasa is about to kiss Eren, he says he can't understand many things in life and stands up.
As the Titan that killed his mother reaches out to grab him, Eren screams and tries to hit it. Against all odds, the nearby Titans begin to tear each other apart and end up eating the Smiling Titan . Everyone thinks this is the perfect opportunity to escape. But as they try to do so, the Armored Titan tries to grab Eren again. When it sees him, it yells at them to stay away from him. From this scream, the story reveals Eren's new power: he can control the Titans, as anyone nearby begins attacking Reiner.
It is at this point that this power is revealed as the "Coordinate", and that it is the reason why Reiner, Bertholdt, and Ymir wanted to kidnap Eren.
At the end of the season, Ymir remarks that she will leave with Reiner, so they can return home. At the same time, Levi , Pixis, and Erwin discover the theory that the Titans they are facing are humans. Three of them then begin to question their actions. In the last scene, the Beast Titan appears on the Wall with a person standing on its shoulders, leaving doubt about its identity.
