10 Facts About Yuji Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen
1) Yuji was born with superhuman strength and speed
One of Yuji's main characteristics that we introduce in the very first chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen is his impressive physical abilities that border on superhuman. Throughout the series, he has shown numerous examples of his extraordinary physical prowess.
Yuji can run 50 meters in 3 seconds, which means he has a speed higher than the world record. His strength is equally impressive, being able to throw cars like it's nothing. In fact, Yuji's fighting style is entirely centered around his superhuman powers.
2) Yuji is resistant to poison
As a vessel, Yuji is confirmed to be resistant to all kinds of poisons. This is because Sukuna is the king of curses and, therefore, resists any poison. This resistance is also shared with its ships.
After being injected with poison, Yuji does not suffer from its deadly property. But he feels the pain caused by the poison. This is seen during his battle alongside Eso and Kechizu.
Since Yuji is no longer Sukuna's vessel, he may no longer have resistance to poison. However, this has not been confirmed.
3) The two scars visible on Yuji's face are both given by Mahito
Yuji goes through many significant changes in the Shibuya Incident arc. Although most of these changes are internal, the scars he receives on his face are visible. After the Shibuya Incident arc, he has two prominent scars on his face: one is a gash on his face and the other is on the right side of his mouth.
These two scars are caused by the clash between the two during the Shibuya Incident arc. Unlike all the other injuries Yuji has suffered so far, Sukuna does not heal these scars, making them the only visible scars on Yuji.
4) Yuji is Kenjaku's son
One of the most shocking twists and turns of the Shibuya Incident arc and Jujutsu Kaisen in general is the reveal of Yuji's mother. This is shown in a small flashback when Kenjaku and Uraume face off against Choso and a number of jujutsu wizards.
As it is revealed, Kaori was Jin Itadori's wife. After her death, Kenjaku possessed her body and mated with Jin, giving birth to Yuji. This means that even though the body belonged to Kaori, it was Kenjaku who conceived and gave birth to Yuji. The reason behind Kenjaku's decision is still a mystery, but there must be more to Yuji Itadori's existence.
5) Yuji is the “younger half-brother” of Choso, Kechizu and Eso
The Cursed Womb: Death Paintings are cursed objects of special quality born from a human woman and cursed spirits due to Noritoshi Kamo's experiments during the Meiji era. There are a total of nine death paintings and the first three are embodied by Choso, Kechizu and Eso.
It is later revealed that the one who created the death paintings was actually Kenjaku using Noritoshi Kamo's body. According to Choso, Death Paintings have three parents: their mother, the cursed spirit who impregnated her, and the one responsible for her.
This makes all death paintings Kenjaku's children. Since Yuji is also a child of Kenjaku, he has a deep connection to the Death Paintings, the strongest of which seems to be Choso's. The connection is so deep that during his fight against Yuji, Choso suffers from a false memory where he sees Yuji with his brothers and himself.
6) Yuji still doesn't have a cursed technique
Jujutsu Sorcerers channel their cursed energy into a special ability that suits their fighting style and helps them exorcise curses. Each jujutsu sorcerer has a specific cursed technique that they have either manifested through training or inherited from their ancestors.
Yuji, despite being the main character of Jujutsu Kaisen, does not have a specific cursed technique. This is because he didn't even know about the existence of curses and cursed energy before his encounter with . Even after training under , Yuji has yet to develop a cursed technique.
7) Yuji is one of only three people known to have performed Black Flash four times in a row
In fights, Yuji relies heavily on his superhuman physical abilities and martial arts skills. After training with Gojo, he learns to channel his cursed energy into his attacks and masters his signature move, Divergent Fist.
But Yuji's greatest feat to date is his use of Black Flash. Black Flash is a move that only a few jujutsu wizards would perform. Among them, we note that he played Black Flash four times in a row during the Night Parade of the Hundred Demons.
Later, during his fight against Hanami, Yuji also performs Black Flash four times in a row in his very first attempt at the technique. Later, unsurprisingly, Gojo also achieves the same feat effortlessly. This means that Yuji is one of only three jujutsu wizards in Jujutsu Kaisen to perform Black Flash four times in a row.
8) Yuji's hair color is natural
The most notable thing about Yuji's appearance is his unique hair color. Yuji has short pink hair with a black undercut. This dual color of his hair has led many people to wonder if this is Yuji's natural hair color or if it is dyed. However, mangaka Gege Akutami confirmed that this is indeed the natural color of Yuji's natural hair.
In the early colored arts of Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuji had blonde hair with a dark undercut. But this latest, newer art consistently shows Yuji with pink hair, similar to the anime. So currently Yuji canonically has pink hair.
9) Yuji might have a deeper connection with Sukuna
While we're talking about Yuji's pink hair, let's remember the other character who also has pink hair: Ryomen Sukuna. For the majority of Jujutsu Kaisen, Sukuna appears as his vessel. When inside Yuji, Sukuna resembles the teenager with the extra markings on his face and body and his hair swept back.
After taking possession of Megumi's body, he resembles Megumi with similar changes. However, Sukuna's original body has only been shown a few times, but we are guaranteed to see more now that he has his real body back.
In a cover that features Sukuna's original body, he is seen with pink hair, although the color is a bit darker. However, the similarity of such a unique hair color begs the question if there is a deeper connection between Yuji and Sukuna that has yet to be revealed. If so, that would also explain how Yuji can overpower Sukuna's consciousness so easily.
10) Yuji may have unlocked a new power
After Gojo's death, Sukuna fights and returns to his original body. When Kashimo is also easily killed and engages with Uraume, Yuji and Sukuna enter the battlefield. Needless to say, this is one of the most memorable fights in the series.
Of course, defeating Sukuna is no easy task and Yuji already suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of the King of Curses after taking over Megumi's body. But now that he's about to fight Sukuna again, we can expect that Yuji didn't come without some plans and preparations.
In the short time between the declaration of battle and the day of battle, Yuji trained extensively and the results can be seen in this fight. This new power could be hinted at in a small detail: when Yuji enters the battlefield against Sukuna, his fingers are revealed to be abnormally sharp, which is unprecedented for him. This may be a small demonstration of his newly awakened powers.
