25 Highest Bounties in One Piece (Ranked)
25 Highest Bounties in One Piece (Ranked)

Yes, you all know that a pirate is the scourge of the seven seas, my friends? Yes, of course you do! That's why the authorities put a bounty on pirates' heads. This is how things happened in real life, but also in the world of One Piece. In the world of One Piece, a bounty is a sum of money placed on a person to be captured and paid by the Marines and the World Government for the capture and extradition of that wanted person. Bounties are usually set by the Marines.
This article will not be a general overview of One Piece bounties, but rather a list of the 25 highest One Piece bounties that have been placed on characters so far. We will focus only on canonical bounties and the amounts as officially stated in the manga or any other reference material.
The highest bounties in One Piece
The list will contain a total of 25 of the highest bounties in One Piece, ranked from lowest to highest. We'll tell you who the bounty is on, the total bounty amount, as well as some information about the characters and how they actually received such high bounties.

Sabo was born into a noble family but decided to run away and settle in Gray Terminal. He becomes Ace and Luffy's brother by clinking glasses of sake, also known as the "Brotherhood Cup." He is believed to have died after being shot by a Celestial Dragon. Sabo reappears in Dressrosa, now second only to Dragon, the leader of the Revolutionaries.
He won the tournament at Corrida Coliseum, which allowed him to eat the Mera Mera no Mi, previously eaten by his adoptive brother, Portgas D. Ace. Sabo's bounty was revealed in One Piece Magazine Vol. 3, which was 602,000,000 berries.

Perospero also wears a long red and pink candy cane. His face appears small with all his accessories. He has very pale skin, a small and long nose, small eyes, and a wide smile that sticks out an unusually large tongue, hinting at his Devil Fruit. His lips are very thin and purple.

He was first briefly mentioned during Caesar Clown's defeat by viewers of the aired Punk Hazard incident. As one of the Three Catastrophes, he is one of Kaidou's right-hand men. Feared and renowned in the New World for his brutality, he is said to have caused such destruction that the land he walks on appears to be suffering from drought.
He was the first individual to receive a ten-figure bounty (the highest disclosed bounty at the time).
20. Vinsmoke Sanji

Total bounty: 1,032,000,000 berries
Sanji is one of the four best fighters in the crew, along with Luffy, Zoro, and Jinbe. He currently has the fourth highest bounty in the crew after Luffy, Zoro, and Jinbe. While Luffy usually fights the most powerful enemies, Sanji and Zoro usually end up fighting enemies considered the second or third most powerful.
Sanji and Zoro's opponents are often determined by how they fight, with Zoro fighting the swordsman of the group while Sanji faces the martial artist. Along with Jinbe, Sanji is the only member of the crew to fight solely on raw power and skill, without weapons or Devil Fruits.
Although Sanji and Zoro generally let their rivalry hinder their performance in battle, they mostly put their rivalry aside to help Luffy in any way they can, taking on powerful enemies while Luffy takes on the stronger one. For example, they interfere between Dosun and Icaros Mucchi so Luffy can attack Hody Jones, and between Indigo and Scarlet so he can attack Shiki.
19. Charlotte Katakuri

Total bounty: 1,057,000,000 berries
Charlotte Katakuri is the second son and third child of the Charlotte family, and a triplet born at the same time as Oven and Daifuku. He is one of the three Sweet Commanders of the Big Mom Pirates as well as the Minister of Flour governing Wheat Island. Katakuri is an extremely tall and muscular man with short, purple, spiked hair.
He has two symmetrical scars at the ends of his mouth. He is almost three times Luffy's size and slightly taller than his triplet brothers, Daifuku and Oven, who are already very large themselves. His mouth, usually covered, contains extremely sharp teeth and can grow to enormous size.
18. Jinbei

Total bounty: 1,100,000,000 berries
Jinbe the Sea Knight is the helmsman of the Straw Hat Pirates, being the tenth member of the gang and the ninth to join. He is a whale shark-like fishman, who served as captain of the Sun Pirates and a member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea. His name was first mentioned by Yosaku when he explained the Seven Warlords of the Sea system. However, he was introduced much later in the Impel Down arc.
He renounced his title as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea during the Battle of Marineford, allying himself with the Whitebeard Pirates. During the war, he befriended Monkey D. Luffy, and later allied with him to prevent the New Fish-Man Pirates' coup against the Neptune Family and the Ryugu Kingdom.
He was even invited to join the Straw Hat Pirates, but declined due to his continued affiliation with Big Mom; however, he stated that once he completed his unfinished business, he would accept and join the crew. After the events on Whole Cake Island ended his troubles, Jinbe rebelled against Linlin's crew and decided to help the Straw Hats escape her clutches. He was part of an alliance with the Sanji Retrieval Team and the Fire Tank Pirates in an attempt to assassinate Big Mom, officially abandoning his crew during Sanji and Charlotte Pudding's failed wedding.
His first bounty was 76,000,000 berries. Eventually, after becoming captain of the Sun Pirates, his bounty rose to 250,000,000 berries. After relinquishing his position as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, his bounty increased to 438,000,000 berries. Currently, after Wano, it stands at 1,100,000,000 berries, making it one of the highest bounties in One Piece.
17. Roronoa Zoro

Total bounty: 1,111,000,000 berries
Zoro, also known as the "Pirate Hunter," is a former bounty hunter and the first to pledge allegiance to Luffy. He aims to become the world's greatest swordsman, motivated by an oath to his late rival Kuina, whom he has never defeated in combat. To achieve this goal, he trains extremely hard so that he can defeat the current greatest swordsman, the sea samurai Mihawk "Hawkeye" Dracule.
As a member of the Straw Hats, his bounty continues to grow and is currently among the highest in One Piece, reaching an incredible 1,111,000,000 berries.
Zoro is an exceptional swordsman who didn't wait to join the Straw Hat Pirates to build a solid reputation. It's true that at the beginning of the series, the famous pirate hunter of the East Blue is already feared and respected. To quote the members of the Supernova crew on the Sabaody Archipelago, he's not the type of person to be under someone's orders. To quote the workers of Water 7 and Zambai, he has the strength to be a captain.
Zoro is adept at a kendo style he created himself, called Santoryū. Few people misjudge his abilities, as unlike Luffy or Sanji, he inspires fear from the start with his cold demeanor and hard stare, and resembles, according to Ryuma the Zombie Samurai, a wild beast. Brook, along with Ryuma, describes him as possessing the power of destruction.
16. Queen

Total bounty: 1,320,000,000 berries
Queen, nicknamed "Queen the Plague," is a pirate belonging to the Beast Pirates led by Kaido. He is one of the three "disasters" of the Hundred Beast Pirates. He rules the Udon Province in Wano. He is one of the central antagonists of the Wano Kuni Arc. He was previously a member of MADS, a research team, alongside Vegapunk and Vinsmoke Judge.
Queen is a very tall and obese person. He wears black and white vertically striped pants held up by black suspenders. His left arm is cybernetic at least below the elbow, and he has a long scar on the right side of his chest.
15. Marc

Total bounty: 1,374,000,000 berries
Marco was the commander of the Whitebeard Pirates' first division. He is also known as "Marco the Phoenix," and is so named for the power of the Zoan-type Mythical Devil Fruit, which allows him to transform into a phoenix and regenerate at will. Marco was Yonko Whitebeard's right-hand man and closest confidant.
After the War of Retribution, Marco returned to Sphinx, the home island of his late captain, where he served as a doctor and protector of the island's inhabitants as well as members of Whitebeard's crew. It is currently unknown how Marco received his bounty.
14. King

Total bounty: 1,390,000,000 berries
King, nicknamed "King the Conflagration," is a pirate and member of the Beast Pirates led by Kaido. He is one of the three "Disasters" of the Beast Pirates. He is a member of the Lunaria race, a near-extinct species native to the Red Line capable of creating and manipulating fire.
King is a very tall man, he seems almost as tall as Jack, who is already enormous; a rather tall man like Fukurokuju seems very small next to him. He wears black clothes, a mask on his face, glasses, and a spiked hat. As one of the Three Catastrophes, he is one of Kaidou's right-hand men.
13. Boa Hancock

Total bounty: 1,659,000,000 berries
Hancock is considered extremely powerful by her friends and enemies alike. Ruling alongside her sisters, Hancock holds power over Amazon Lily and the rest of the Kuja women. As empress and captain of the tribe, she is arguably the most powerful Kuja warrior. The Kuja believe in "the power of beauty," and since everyone in the tribe believes she is the most beautiful woman in the world, they believe she is very powerful, the strongest in the entire tribe.
It's worth noting that only the strongest Kuja warriors are allowed aboard the country's pirate ship. Hancock and her sisters were strong enough to be there when they were little, but it's possible they were simply apprentices like Shanks and Buggy. Her strength is so great that she was even recognized by Navy Admiral Sengoku.
After the Seven Warlords of the Sea were disbanded, Hancock received a new bounty of 1,659,000,000 Berries.
12. Mr. Crocodile

Total bounty: 1,965,000,000 berries
Sir Crocodile is the main antagonist of the Alabasta arc and also appeared as the main antagonist of the eighth film. He has very high self-esteem and believes in his own strength, which leads him to always treat anyone with contempt; he hardly loses his temper and always shows great intelligence and thoughtfulness in all aspects of his plans, ensuring that they can succeed even if they don't go as planned.
Crocodile ingested the Rogia Sand Fruit, which allows him to transform into sand and become intangible to everything except liquids; the fruit also allows him to create sand storms and blades and dry out anything he touches by absorbing the liquid portion. Instead of his left hand, Crocodile has a large golden hook that hides a powerful poison capable of causing heart failure in the opponent. Before joining the Fleet of Seven, a bounty of 81 million Berries was attached to his head. Currently, this is one of the highest bounties in the series, amounting to 1,965,000,000 Berries.
11. Eustace Child

Total bounty: 3,000,000,000 berries
Eustass "Captain" Kid is a renowned pirate from the South Blue who is the captain of the Kid Pirates. As one of the eleven Supernovas who landed on Sabaody two years ago, he is part of what is known as "the worst generation" of pirates in history. He is one of the most feared captains in the One Piece world, and his bounty has increased over the years to the current peak of 3,000,000,000 berries, making it one of the highest in the entire series, tied with Luffy's.
10. Trafalgar D. Water Law

Total bounty: 3,000,000,000 berries
Trafalgar Law, whose real name is Trafalgar D. Water Law, is the captain and doctor of the Heart Pirates, a pirate crew composed mostly of doctors. He comes from White City, an island in the North Blue. He is part of a group of eleven pirates nicknamed the Eleven Supernovae on the Sabaody Archipelago, renowned pirates whose bounty exceeds 100,000,000.
Before the timeskip, he had the fifth highest bounty among the eleven supernovae, with a bounty of 200,000,000. Law, like several other pirates, also dreams of finding One Piece. During the two-year timeskip, he became a Grand Corsair, acting directly under the World Government, and ended up with a former bounty of 440,000,000.
However, his title was revoked by Admiral Fujitora when the latter learned that he had allied himself with the Straw Hat Pirates. After the events of Dressrosa, his bounty now stands at 500,000,000. After the events of Wano, it has risen to 3,000,000,000 berries, rivaling Luffy's.
9. Monkey D. Luffy

Total bounty: 3,000,000,000 berries
Monkey D. Luffy is a pirate and the main protagonist of the manga and anime One Piece. Luffy is the son of the leader of the Revolutionary Army, Monkey D. Dragon, the grandson of the famous Marine hero, Monkey D. Garp, the adopted son of a mountain bandit, Curly Dadan, and the adopted brother of the late Portgas D. Ace and Sabo.
His actions, among others, have resulted in a current bounty of 1,500,000,000 Berries. Having received a bounty of 300,000,000 Berries before arriving on Sabaody Archipelago, Luffy was one of eleven renowned pirates known as the "Supernova Eleven," eleven pirates with bounties exceeding 100,000,000 Berries who arrived on Sabaody Archipelago at the same time. Due to his reputation, it makes sense that he has one of the highest bounties in One Piece.
His new bounty acquired after the events of the Whole Cake Island Arc led the press to name him the "Fifth Emperor" of the seas.
8. Buggy the Clown

Total bounty: 3,189,000,000 berries
Although not as powerful as the other former Roger Pirates, Buggy is a very capable fighter, as he was strong enough to survive all the battles against Whitebeard's Pirates and the extreme dangers of the Grand Line. His arrogance and greed encourage him to continue fighting and seize every opportunity to build a good reputation.
Buggy has very high stamina, as he survived the blast of a redirected Mugggy Bullet with virtually no injuries (though his Devil Fruit might have helped somewhat), while a Mugggy Bullet severely damaged the Minotaur, one of the demonic guards at Impel Down. He also possesses great physical strength, as he was able to single-handedly lift and strangle one of his subordinates, easily pick up a Blugori and throw it to the ground (though he got back up with minimal injury), and support the weight of Luffy and Jinbe while making his upper body float (though this can be attributed to his Devil Fruit ability).
Following the abolition of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Buggy offered a bounty of 3,189,000,000 Berries for being recognized as the leader of the Cross Guild and one of the Four Emperors.
7. Dracule Mihawk

Total bounty: 3,590,000,000 berries
Dracule Mihawk, nicknamed "Hawkeye" because of his intimidating stare, is universally regarded as the world's greatest swordsman. He is a thin man with a thin beard and mustache; by temperament, he is solitary, taciturn, with a stern and proud demeanor and a strong sense of honor.
His weapon is a gigantic black sword, called the Black Sword, belonging to the category of the supreme Wazamono, the best in the world: with it, he can deflect bullets and cut entire galleons in two, as he did with the fifty ships of the Creek fleet.
Despite being a member of the Fleet, he does not seem to care much about the World Government's problems, so much so that he abandoned Marineford after Shanks' arrival, stating that he had agreed to fight Whitebeard but not Red-Hair: in fact, when they were young, the two were bitter rivals in swordsmanship and the battles between the two are considered memorable. Following the abolition of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Mihawk was given a bounty of 3,590,000,000 Berries for being the world's most powerful swordsman.
6. Blackbeard

Total bounty: 3,996,000,000 berries
Marshall D. Teach, better known as Blackbeard, is the Admiral of the Blackbeard Pirates and is currently a member of the Four Emperors. Teach is a former member of the Whitebeard Pirates' Second Division, led by Portgas D. Ace. He kills Thatch, the commander of the Fourth Division, to claim the Yami Yami no Mi.
He temporarily became one of the Seven Great Corsairs by defeating Ace and delivering him to the Marines, but later decided to abandon his title after he and his crew killed Whitebeard during the Siege of Marineford. He is one of the main antagonists of One Piece and the only known person to have absorbed two different Devil Fruits.
5. Hocks

Total bounty: 4,048,900,000 berries
Red-Haired Shanks is the captain of the Red-Haired Pirates and one of the Four Emperors. He is also a former member of the legendary Roger Pirates, the only group to successfully conquer the Grand Line. He is the pirate who inspired Luffy on his pirate journey.
He retrieves the Gomu Gomu no Mi, which was stolen from a World Government ship and then accidentally eaten by Luffy. He is the second-to-last emperor to have joined the small group six years ago. He is the youngest of the four.
It is currently unknown how Shanks received his bounty, but it is likely that his actions as one of the Four Emperors and being a former member of the Roger Pirates may have also influenced him.
4. Grandma

Total bounty: 4,388,000,000 berries
Charlotte Linlin, also known as Big Mom, is the captain of the Big Mom Pirates and the only female member of the Four Emperors; she lost her position after her defeat in Wano. She is the matriarch of the Charlotte family, which forms the backbone of her crew. She also rules Totto Land as queen, seeking to transform the archipelago into a utopia where all races of the world can coexist without discrimination or segregation.
Her epithet was revealed just after the Battle of the Ford Navy by Eustass Kid, her real name was later mentioned by Pappug on Fish-Man Island. She is the main antagonist of the Tougato Arc and one of the main antagonists of the Emperor Saga.
3. Kaido

Total bounty: 4,611,100,000 berries
Kaido, nicknamed "the strongest creature," is the captain of the Beast Pirates, as well as a former emperor of the sea, the third to be mentioned by name and the last to make his debut; he is also known as "the most powerful creature in the world" (a parallel to Edward Newgate's "the most powerful man in the world"). He and his crew currently occupy Wano Country. It remains to be seen how his bounty will fluctuate after his defeat.
He was also allied with Kurozumi Orochi before deciding to betray him for his new Onigashima project. He is a former apprentice of the Rock Pirates. He was first mentioned by Monkey D. Garp in Water Seven, and then directly mentioned by Gecko Moria shortly after he obtained Monkey D. Luffy's shadow. His title as emperor was revealed just after the Straw Hat Pirates defeated Moria.
2. Whitebeard (inactive)

Total bounty: 5,046,000,000 berries
Edward Newgate, also known as Whitebeard, "The World's Strongest Man," also considered "The Man Closest to One Piece," was the captain of the Whitebeard Pirates. Whitebeard was one of the Four Emperors during his lifetime, but was killed during the Battle of Marineford by his former subordinate Marshall D. Teach (and his crew).
He symbolically represented both by his mere presence all the Free Pirates including the Emperors, the New World, the old era of Roger and his people that was ending, and the difficult news that was beginning to be one of its first main victims. He knew the meaning of God's will. His last words were to predict that a single person would defy the entire world.
1. Gol D. Roger (inactive)

Total bounty: 5,564,800,000 berries
Gol D. Roger, better known as Gold Roger, was the former and only pirate lord and the former owner of the legendary treasure, the One Piece. It makes perfect sense that such a formidable character would have the highest bounty in One Piece. Roger was the captain of the Roger Pirates, the only crew to reach the end of the Grand Line and own the islands of Lodestar and Laugh Tale.
He was also the father of Portgas D. Ace, a child he had with Portgas D. Rouge. He was executed over 20 years ago in Loguetown, his hometown.
For his actions as Pirate King, Roger received the highest bounty in history: it is said that no pirate bounty has ever exceeded his, and so far, the manga confirms this. After his surrender and execution, the bounty was, of course, withdrawn.
