Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Expected Release Date
With the final episode of season 2, MAPPA also confirmed the return of Jujutsu Kaisen for a third season accompanied by a teaser. However, no information has been available on when season 3 will return.
Jujutsu Kaisen premiered in October 2020 and ran until March 2021 with 24 episodes. Next came the prequel film, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, which released in December 2021. The long-awaited second season began this year in July and took a three-week break after completing the hidden inventory arc. The anime adaptation of the Shibuya Incident Arc began on August 31, 2023 and ran until December 28, 2023.
Even though MAPPA has been consistent with its Jujutsu Kaisen content offering since its premiere, Season 3 may not be the same case. This year there have been many complaints and controversies due to the way MAPPA facilitators are treated. Several animators spoke about their overwork and the toxic work culture they suffer from.
Fans of the series are very concerned and have relayed their support to the crew. Hopefully animators will now be treated better and benefit from a better working environment. Due to all the negative reactions MAPPA has had with the second season, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is expected to be a bit late.
There is a lot of speculation going around that season 3 will premiere in 2025. But, as mentioned earlier, there has been no official statement from MAPPA on the release year or even the directors of the third season.
