Who is Fumihiko Takaba in Jujutsu Kaisen?
Fumihiko Takaba is a major character in the film who ends up becoming an ally of our heroes. He is a normal human to whom Kenjaku gives the ability to use cursed energy to participate in the . Before he inadvertently became a jujutsu wizard, he was a failed comedian whose jokes were not appreciated by the indifferent patrons of a comedy club.
After becoming a jujutsu wizard and participating in the Culling Game, he meets and when the former fights Reggie Star and Iori Hazenoki. He helps Megumi by fighting Hazenoki, leaving the teen to take care of Reggie. Later, he joins our heroes and accompanies them to Tokyo Jujutsu High.

Instead of typical elemental powers, the series offers a wide range of abilities that make the series' fights even more intriguing and unpredictable. However, even among such a rich variety, Takaba's stands out for its ridiculousness.
As mentioned before, Takaba is not a born jujutsu wizard. Kenjaku gave him the ability to use his cursed energy effectively, meaning he is very new to the world of jujutsu. On top of that, he is not someone that intelligent or studious as to be able to completely understand the power that has been bestowed upon him.
However, despite all of this, Takaba is still theoretically one of the strongest characters in Jujutsu Kaisen and this is due to his extremely mastered Cursed Technique.
Like Higuruma, Takaba's innate cursed technique manifests through a connection to his personality and philosophy. His cursed technique is called the comedian and is one of the most ridiculous and mastered cursed techniques in the series.
The comedian allows Takaba to manifest everything he considers funny. It seems like there are no limits because he can pretty much do anything if he finds it funny. This ability is completely unpredictable because no one knows what Takaba will find funny or how his thoughts will evolve.
Examples of Takaba's insane powers include healing himself from mortal wounds without using the reverse curse technique, manifesting a paper fan capable of reflecting the eye bomb aimed at him, and even increasing his speed to the point that a veteran fighter like Hazenoki can't see his movements.
It was explicitly stated in the story that the cursed technique of Takaba, the Comedian, has the potential to beat even , the most powerful jujutsu wizard of the modern era.
Takaba vs. Kenjaku
After the Culling Game arc ended, things got too intense and the stakes were too high with major players like Sukuna, Gojo, Megumi, and Yuji that Takaba didn't seem like an important character in the current arc . However, this changes in the recent chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen in which Takaba comes to face Kenjaku alone.
While Sukuna and Gojo fight in Shinjuku, Kenjaku eliminates the remaining Culling Game players. In Iwate, he is confronted by Hazenoki and after a brief fight, kills the curse user. Shortly after Hazenoki's death, Takaba appears to run into Kenjaku, thinking he is finally in Hakodate.
Kenjaku theorizes that Takaba came to confront him alone and was teleported to this location by a cursed space technique, probably belonging to Ui Ui. Initially, Kenjaku is completely disinterested in Takaba, stating that the only awakened jujutsu wizard he is interested in is Hiromi Higuruma.
He attempts to kill Takaba instantly and is shocked to find that the comedian effortlessly survived his deadly attack. The chapter ends with Takaba proclaiming how exciting he is when the comedian who is supposed to be a supporting actor ends up stealing all the limelight, and Kenjaku agrees with him. In the next chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, we will see more of Takaba vs Kenjaku.
Takaba's future role in Jujutsu Kaisen
Takaba's ridiculously mastered cursed technique provides many possibilities for future plot points in Jujutsu Kaisen. There is no known limit to his powers yet and it has been made clear that theoretically he is almost as strong as Gojo, meaning that if the opportunity presents itself he can counter Sukuna as well.
Part of the fandom believes that Takaba will play a crucial role in handling Sukuna who currently has no equal after Gojo's death and recovery of his original body. But for Takaba to fight Sukuna, he must first defeat Kenjaku, which will be no easy feat.
Another part of the fans think that Takaba could use the comedian to revive Gojo. It's unclear if he has the ability to resurrect death, but given that he can conjure things out of thin air and even prevent his own death multiple times without even trying, we can't throw the theory out yet. the window.
